ARBOCEL® cellulose fibres are environmentally friendly products obtained from renewable raw materials.

The fibres are used as thickening agents, for reinforcement, as absorbents and extenders, or as carriers and fillers in a wide variety of applications, e.g. as additives for plasters and paints.

The cellulose fibres behave almost like large, swellable pigment particles. In water-based paints, they improve water retention, make the paint more matte and greatly increase its abrasion resistance.

  • Material: natural, high-purity cellulose fibres
  • Dimensions fibres (L x Ø): approx. 200 x 20 µm
  • Bulk density: 120 g/l - 155 g/l
  • Colour: white

Application for desalination

The fibres are also suitable as compress material for stone desalination.

The principle of compress desalination is based on the diffusion of the salts in the stone into a moist compress applied to the surface. In addition to the drying compress method, the capillary-absorbent compress material can be kept permanently wet, which can be achieved, for example, by covering it with a film.

Please note: Placing a layer of Japanese paper between the stone and the compress makes it easier to remove the compress.

Application for dry cleaning

ARBOCEL® BWW 40 can also be used for dry cleaning paper and parchment:

Soft particle blasting

Dipl. Rest. Bert Jaček, FH Cologne, developed this process for the particularly gentle cleaning of paper and parchment surfaces. In addition to the Resko Airblaster II, a suitable compressor and ARBOCEL® BWW 40, among other things, were used for this purpose.
In a first further development, a blasting chamber and extraction system from FUCHS® Umwelttechnik was used to prevent fine dust exposure for users and contamination of the room environment, thereby improving the working process for widespread practical application, even for extensive cleaning work.
