Propadyn® Museart – Dynamic Humidity Control for the Protection of Cultural Heritage

Propadyn® Museart is a dynamic humidity stabiliser developed by the Italian company Propagroup, specifically for the protection of works of art and cultural heritage objects. Propagroup has more than 50 years of experience in protective and safety packaging solutions for demanding transport and storage conditions. Drawing on this expertise, Propadyn® Museart was developed in the company’s own research laboratories as a specialised solution for museums, collections, exhibitions, storage facilities and the transport of works of art.

The key principle behind Propadyn® Museart is the stabilisation of relative humidity (RH). The material responds dynamically to changes in the surrounding environment, helping to maintain relative humidity at the desired level. This reduces short-term fluctuations in humidity and the associated stresses placed on sensitive materials.

Why use Propadyn® Museart in museum display cases?

Fluctuations in relative humidity can cause dimensional changes, deformation and long-term deterioration, particularly in hygroscopic materials such as wood, paper, parchment, textiles, canvas and composite materials.
