Professional LED Light Boxes for Restoration, Conservation and Documentation

The professional LED light boxes with D50 standard illuminant are designed for the even illumination of transparent and translucent materials. They enable precise visual assessment of colour, structure and material characteristics, making them ideally suited to demanding applications in restoration, conservation, examination and documentation.

The uniform, glare- and reflection-reduced illuminated surface provides excellent conditions for transmitted-light examination and supports the detailed assessment of even fine features. The high colour rendering and defined colour temperature of the D50 standard illuminant allow materials to be evaluated under reproducible and reliable lighting conditions.

Versatile Applications

The light boxes are particularly suitable for:

  • Transmitted-light examination of transparent and translucent materials
  • Examination and documentation of paper and graphic works
  • Viewing photographs, films and comparable materials
  • Visual inspection and quality control
  • Restoration and conservation examinations
  • Professional applications in museums, archives, collections and workshops

D50 Standard Illuminant for Reliable Visual Assessment

The LED technology uses D50 standard illuminant with a colour temperature of 5,000 K. This provides standardised lighting conditions that are particularly beneficial when assessing colours and surfaces.

The very high colour rendering enables precise and colour-accurate visual evaluation. This is especially important for examinations where colour differences, material changes or fine structural details need to be identified and documented reliably.

Uniform and Reflection-Reduced Illuminated Surface

The white opaque, anti-reflective acrylic glass panel distributes the light evenly across the entire working area. This creates uniform illumination, reduces distracting differences in brightness and supports comfortable viewing.

The reflection-reduced surface minimises distracting glare and reflections, allowing concentrated work even during prolonged examination and documentation tasks.

Slim and Robust Construction

The light boxes feature a particularly slim design and a robust aluminium housing. The white powder-coated finish provides a durable and easy-to-maintain surface suitable for professional day-to-day use.

Thanks to their low-profile construction, the light boxes can be used comfortably directly on the workbench. Different sizes are available depending on the format required, making it possible to examine both smaller objects and large-format materials on an appropriately sized illuminated surface.

Different Formats for Different Requirements

The light boxes are available in various sizes from DIN A4 to DIN A0. This allows the appropriate working area to be selected according to the application and the dimensions of the objects being examined.

The smaller models are particularly suitable for compact workspaces and smaller objects, while the larger versions provide ample space for extensive documents, graphic works, photographs and other large-format materials.

Dimming Function and Brightness Control

Depending on the model, the brightness can be adjusted to suit the individual examination conditions. The smaller models feature a dimming function, while the larger versions use an external dimmer for brightness control.

The adjustable illuminance allows the lighting to be adapted to different materials, levels of transparency and examination requirements, thereby increasing flexibility in everyday use.

Long-lasting LED Technology

The LED technology is designed for a long service life while providing an energy-efficient and low-maintenance lighting solution. The LEDs ensure reliable and uniform illumination of the working area over an extended period of use.

Combined with their robust construction, high-quality illumination and wide range of available formats, these light boxes are professional tools for precise transmitted-light examination in restoration, conservation, documentation and quality control.
