The personal protection equipment is an important part of everyday life for a conservator. Since 21 April 2018, the regulation (EU) 2016/425 on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) replaces the 1989 PPE Directive. It contains updates and enhancements to existing regulations.
The National Museum of Denmark in cooperation with Deffner & Johann organize a one day workshop which takes place in Lyngby 6th and 7th of June.
The participants will receive a theoretical introduction and get the opportunity to work hands-on with the technique on several objects, guided by Mrs Maren Dümmler M.A., paper conservator, with broad expertise on soft-particle cleaning.

The expert exchange with first-hand expertise was a raving success!
We have an intensive training week with very positive feedback behind us.
Gunnar Ottosson visited us for 3 days and discussed questions, processing instructions and innovations about linseed oil paint with more than 50 participants. In addition to the expert exchange at Deffner & Johann, Mr. Ottosson attended a master school for the further training of teachers and master students.
Deffner & Johann has been funding a Germany scholarship for students of the restoration sciences for more than 5 years. In addition to financial support, we encourage and support our fellows each year in benefiting from our market and industry expertise, to expand their networks, to work truly interdisciplinary and to establish global contacts amongst peers and industry leaders.
