At this year’s denkmal we will be introducing our new 2023 catalogue to the conservation and cultural heritage community. This compendium of products and solutions covers most relevant tools, materials and equipment on over 270 pages.
Experts to Experts
We aim to provide a platform for exchanging ideas among customers, conservation experts and manufacturers from different countries, explaining applications, offering solutions and receiving feedback. For this year we have chosen the following focus topics for Experts to Experts talks:
Brushes
Fine brushes have been one of our genuine strengths since 1880. To celebrate the 80th birthday of long-time owner and managing director Harald Johann, we present the special edition "Meisterklasse Edition Harald Johann", a retouching and watercolour brush of the absolute top class.
Linseed Oil Paint
"Leinöl, Leidenschaft und der Süden Schwedens." – Under this title Gunnar Ottosson publishes and presents his book at this year's denkmal. In addition, Ottosson will demonstrate linseed oil paint in its application together with Burkardt Münchow, one of the experts and experienced window restorers in the German-speaking region.
A special focus will be on equipment, materials and tools for surface cleaning.
Infrared Technology
Speedheater® presents the use of its infrared technology for gentle paint removal and introduces numerous innovations.
Dry Cleaning
Proven and new approaches to dry cleaning will be presented by aka®. The manufacturer's experts will demonstrate the complete aka® cleaning system and answer your questions.
Surface Cleaning
With the Nanorestore® products, the manufacturer CSGI (Center for Colloid and Surface Science) presents one of the leading innovations in surface cleaning. The products, developed specifically for surface cleaning with the help of nanotechnology, enable reliable, safe and well-defined treatment of a broad scope of materials and surfaces in restoration and conservation.
Restoration Papers
This year, Maren Dümmler, M.A. Paper Conservator, will present our comprehensive range of finest Japanese papers and a new, handmade series of high-quality restoration handmade papers, as well as explain application examples. With the water activated self-adhesive Tengucho, we will be showing a world first for the gentle, effective restoration of documents and archives.
Mortars
For almost 30 years we have been working closely with the manufacturer of the LEDAN® product range from Italy. Today, the restorer can choose from a wide range of mortars, injection and consolidation substrates. At denkmal, the company will present the newly developed syringe for processing injection mortars and demonstrate innovative and proven material solutions.
Preventive Conservation
Numerous innovations for preventive conservation and for art handling with packaging, securing and object hanging from Temart AB as well as tried and tested concepts for pest monitoring (IPM - Integrated Pest Management) round off our denkmal program this year.
We will bring a piece of everyday studio life into the denkmal exhibition halls with practical demonstrations and expert to expert talks. You are welcome to look over the shoulders of the experts.
