As Managing Director of Deffner & Johann, it is important to me to address you personally today.
Deffner & Johann is celebrating its 140th anniversary. Due to the Corona crisis, the anniversary is under very special circumstances. Customer events and trade fair visits have been paused. COVID-19 presents us all with enormous challenges. Especially now it is important to keep the principles of the last decades in focus: To act reliably for customers, employees and suppliers.
As a company, we have taken numerous measures since March 16 to adapt our processes to the changed situation and to take the best possible precautions for the health of my employees. The Deffner & Johann team, whether in the office or in the warehouse, currently works in shifts with reduced working hours to ensure that only a maximum of two colleagues can be in one area at any one time. There are hygiene rules and communication is contactless. This is to ensure that everyone is protected as much as possible and that we are still able to process your enquiries and deliver orders as timely as possible. Telephone availability may be limited. Please simply write us an e-mail. Then we will usually get back to you at short notice. So far, everything is going very well and I would like to thank my employees for their commitment and high degree of flexibility.
As long as it is feasible and no other regulations apply, we are available for you. Your orders from Germany and abroad show us that you too are continuing to work. We want to continue to provide you with a reliable service. This is to support you the best possible way to continue your conservation works, but also to secure jobs at Deffner & Johann - we are very grateful for that!
We are currently delivering your orders as usual and have not had any major delays in shipping so far. Please note, however, that you must inform us of any changes in delivery or goods receipt modalities at your company or museum when you place your order. Repeated delivery attempts are waived by the parcel services and returns due to non-delivery of an order are subject to a charge, which we have to charge on. If delivery restrictions apply to your postcode area, we ask you to inform us, when you place your order. Due to possible restrictions and bottlenecks on the part of our manufacturers or freight companies, delivery delays may occur in individual cases.
Furthermore, our international customers should know that due to the current COVID-19 situation in Germany, an export and shipment ban applies to masks, protective goggles, protective clothing and similar products with protective function.
