The handcrafted gilding pad is covered with the finest natural leather and upholstered extra softly. This special padding allows the leaf metals to be cut precisely with the gilding knife.
To prevent the wafer thin gold leaf from folding over at the slightest draught, a windshield made of sturdy parchment paper is attached to the pad. In addition, there is a holding strap for the thumb and the gilding knife on the reverse side of the pad.
The 15 x 22 cm size is ideal for all types of gold leaf up to 90 x 90 mm, while the larger 18 x 25 cm pad can also be used for genuine gold leaf in special sizes and for imitation leaf.
