PROSORB is delivered adjusted to the humidity value you require. PROSORB is capable of both absorbing and releasing water vapour and can thus keep the humidity value in display cases and transport containers constant over a longer period of time. In most museums it is standard to set artworks made of organic materials to a humidity value between 40 and 60 % rH.
Technical data:
- Chloride-free: PROSORB contains no lithium chloride, which has a corrosive effect on metals and could possibly be transferred to works of art via dusts or alternate touching. PROSORB consists of 97 % SiO2 and 3 % Al2O3.
- Compact: 1 kg PROSORB requires only approx. 1.5 l volume.
- The conditioning value of PROSORB is slightly temperature-dependent. The stated conditioning value refers to 20 °C.
At 10 °C it is about 1 - 1.5 % rH lower, at 30 °C about 1 - 1.5 % rH higher. - Bulk density: approx. 0.7 kg/l; Pore volume: approx. 0.5 ml/g; Breaking strength: over 200 N; Inner surface: approx. 750 m2/g.
