Selhamin poliment is a specially prepared, refined bole for making ground for gilding.

Selhamin poliment must be mixed with glue based size before use.
Preparation: leave 80 g of hide glue (pellets) in 1 litre of cold water until softened, then heat in a bain-marie. Add the size gradually to the Sehamin poliment and stir in. The mass will be initially dough-like and then, with further addition of size, more liquid. The right consistency is achieved when the bole/size mixture runs off a brush like wall paint.
