DuPont has refined Tyvek® 1622 and 1443 in consideration of the special demands of art handling and preventive conservation.
The new types 1623 E and 1442 R are produced especially for museum applications and subject to steady quality control during production. Tyvek® types 1442 R and 1623 E, especially suited for packaging and transport of art objects, are pH-neutral, lint free, do not trap moisture and protect from damage.
Tyvek® 1623 E was specifically developed for the packaging of art objects. It is soft, flexible, tear-resistant, breathable, anti-static, tough, very light, washable, neutral and can be printed on. Easy to cut and suitable for sewing, glueing and heat-sealing. Long-lasting and cost-efficient.
Tyvek® 1442 R is not needled and has a smoother surface than Tyvek® 1622 E.
Tyvek® 1082 D is extremely tear- and cut-resistant, waterproof, resistant to chemical product and UV-stable. It’s rigid structure is perfect for tough packages and enclosures. Also excellent for making labels, tags and markers.
