We are looking back on three intensive days at the fair, where you could feel the enthusiasm of everyone involved at every second. After the pandemic-related cancellation two years ago, the 14th denkmal returned very successfully to the great delight of all exhibitors, partners and visitors. 351 exhibitors from 12 countries presented their products and services from all areas of monument conservation and restoration at denkmal.
After two weeks, the numerous samples, tools and equipment, we presented at our booth, are now back in Röthlein.
"As a quasi-founding member of denkmal, we very much hoped that the restart after the cancelled trade fair in 2020 would be successful. These hopes were even exceeded, because denkmal 2022 was a great success. Many interested national and international customers visited our booth, especially a lot of young people, with whom we had great conversations", explains Ralph-Uwe Johann, owner and managing director of Deffner & Johann.
First of all, we would like to thank all visitors and customers at our booth for this successful trade fair. But especially to our experts who accompanied us to denkmal this year and enriched and highlighted our stand.
Gunnar Ottosson presented his new book "Leinöl, Leidenschaft und der Süden Schwedens" on linseed oil paints. Burkardt Münchow, window restorer and one of the experts on linseed oil paint in application, demonstrated these and was always surrounded by numerous visitors.
A special focus was on equipment, materials and tools for surface cleaning. Here Birger Ericson and his team presented the Speedheater® products, which are very well suited for gentle paint removal by infrared technology. For dry cleaning, Dirk Born ans his collegue from D.O.G. / aka® demonstrated the complete aka® cleaning system to our interested visitors.
Teresa Guaragnone (PhD) and Dott. Michele Baglioni (PhD), developers of the Nanorestore® products at the University of Florence (manufacturer is the CSGI - Center for Colloid and Surface Science), showed their innovations in surface cleaning.
Also from Italy, we welcomed the manufacturers of the Ledan® product range, Alfredo and Michele Bonaccini. The product innovations in the field of mortar, injection and consolidation alternatives attracted numerous interested visitors.
The area of "Paper and Paper Restoration" was represented by our proven and experienced expert Maren Dümmler (M.A.), paper restorer. This time, too, numerous visitors were able to look over her shoulder as she applied and processed restoration papers. Special attention was paid to the use of bags for wax-seals as well as to our new products, the restoration handmade papers and the self-adhesive Tengucho.
Dipl. Restorer Univ. Yngve Magnusson, Lillehammer Museums, expert on the large field of "Preventive Conservation and Art Handling", was able to pass on his experience and tips directly from everyday practice.
Traditionally, D&J employees also presented the comprehensive range with numerous product innovations and were able to hold interesting discussions with the visitors throughout. In addition, as a highlight, our new general catalogue 2023 was introduced.
We are very happy about the great response and were able to take a lot of positive impressions home with us. The denkmal has impressively shown how important it is as an international leading meeting place for the entire professional community.
The next denkmal will take place from 7th to 9th November 2024.
