Gunnar Ottosson: Ein Buch über Leinölfarbe, Leidenschaft und den Süden Schwedens.

Published 2022, 200 pages, with colour samples, hardcover edition.

"Why is it such a fantastic feeling to paint with real linseed oil paint?
Is it the scent? Is it the certainty that you are using a pure natural product? No opaque solvents, no additives. Only linseed oil and natural pigment.
Or is it the certainty that this is exactly the kind of paint that has been used in and on our buildings for many centuries?
Or is it perhaps that real linseed oil paint is so smooth and covering, with a beautiful surface?

This book is about an artist who started a paint factory in Genarp, southern Sweden, some 35 years ago. It is about setbacks and successes. It is about the passion for the original, the beautiful and sustainability.
Everything you want to know about linseed oil paint can be found in this book. Plus lots of inspiration, tips and ideas."

Please note: The book is published in german language.

"Hej, I am Gunnar Ottosson, paint maker from Genarp, in Skåne, in the south of Sweden. My journey into the world of linseed oil paints began with my education as a visual artist at the Malmö Art Academy 40 years ago.

Why does an artist become a Färkmakere? Are traditional paint formulations with linseed oil still relevant and sustainable today? What are the properties of linseed oil from Sweden? How are durable paints made from linseed oil that attract worldwide attention? How are the colours applied to which surfaces? I try to answer these and many other questions in my book.

I would be delighted if I succeeded in sharing my passion for linseed oil, paints and shades with you in this book. Join me on my journey."
