The Kölner KGGG System was developed for high-quality mirror gilding and consists of three components:
- Sealer 123A or P
- Fond
- Size (Colnasol size can be used as an alternative to Adhesol size)
All components can be diluted with water and are applied cold one after the other.
Kölner KGGG System component 3A: Colnasol size
With the Kölner KGGG System, a mild solution of hide glue in water is used instead of the usual alcohol size.
Application:
First dissolve the Colnasol tablet in hot water. After the water has cooled down, the size can be applied. The Colnasol size is applied with a wide hair brush 2 - 3 times wet on wet to the surface prepared with the base.
The metal leaf is then immediately applied with the guilding brush. Once the gold leaf has been applied, please wait 24 hours before polishing with agate.
