High quality sturgeon glue slices for restoration, suitable for gluing paper, cardboard, parchment, leather or textiles. This product was specially developed with and for paper restorers.

Sturgeon glue is particularly characterised by its high adhesive strength and good durability as well as elasticity or flexibility. The glue has a lower viscosity than comparable animal products. Due to the low gelling temperature, it can be handled at room temperature.
Warm and humid weather can have a significant effect on the shelf life of the preparation. Please be sure to use clean containers, preferably glass jars, and store in a cool place.
Animal glues should definitely be stored in a dry place.
Processing:
- Sturgeon glue is used in a solution of 1 part swim bladder to 9 parts water.
- Put stir swim bladders into cold water and allow to swell for approx. 12 - 16 hours. To speed up swelling and dissolving in water, the bladders can be cut into smaller pieces.
- Heat the mixture indirectly in a water bath to approx. 40 - 68 ° C.
- Pour the warm solution through an inert filter.
- Pour out as thinly as possible onto hostaphan film and allow to dry.
- It is possible to store dried sturgeon glue film in a jar. Storage of a glue solution is not recommended, as water evaporates during processing and multiple heating significantly reduces the adhesive properties.
